Competitive dance teams

Our competitive dance teams are for our intermediate to advanced dancers, by invitation only. West Chester Academy's competitive team members serve as ambassadors for WCA, not only at competition venues, but at community events as well. Eligible candidates include anyone with a positive attitude who is energetic, driven, and committed with a passion for performing.

• All competitive team students must have at least 1 year dance experience.
• All competitive team students must meet minimum requirements of dance hours with no exceptions. The competitive team is a privilege, and the student must be fully participating with the right attitude throughout the year to continue membership on the team.
• New students must schedule a trial audition.
• Joining a competition team is a year-long committment.
• Current students are not required to audition, but must pre-register in May
• There are 1 – 4 competitions per year, depending upon team placement.
• There are extra costs associated with competitive dance, including but not limited to: competition fees, workshops, team jackets, and costumes. The competitive costumes are higher priced than non-competitive costumes.
