West Chester Academy of Music and Dance is proud to offer The Music Class®, the finest singing and movement classes available for children from birth to age four!
The Music Class®, created by The Music Class®, is a music education curriculum designed to unleash the musical potential of young children. Featuring award winning music, engaging activities, and caring, professional instructors, we are proud of the high standards we set in the field of early childhood music education!
In The Music Class® class, your child will be exposed to a wide variety of styles designed to expand his or her music vocabulary. We'll play with rhythm instruments, balls, scarves, stick horses, stretchy bands, and puppets to engage even the youngest of children in rhythmic and melodic participation. Child/parent participation and creativity is greatly encouraged, as our trained instructors will frequently ask for ideas from either your children or you for substitutions of words or actions that will personalize the songs!
Just as the minds of babies are literally being wired to discern and compute the sounds of the verbal language around them, their developing minds can also be wired for the melodic and rhythmic sounds of music. The greater the palette of sounds children are exposed to, the greater their music vocabulary will be upon which they can build as they grow. Take advantage of The Music Class® to stimulate and cultivate that growth with a fun, up-tempo music class with your child!
Our The Music Class® classes are offered year round in 4 quarters. Each quarter contains (10) 45-minute classes which feature a new collection of songs. Students receive a new book and access to digital music each quarter to allow them to listen at home. Their musicality blossoms as they incorporate the music into their everyday lives. Plus, parents tell us repeatedly that they enjoy the music, too. It's that good!
New students may join at any time if there are openings. The current schedule includes classes on Wednesday at 10am, Friday at 10am, and Saturday at 9am, 10am, and 11am. Registering for a session commits you to all classes in that session; early withdrawal and partial refunds are not available. Please call for availability!
